ESGR, a Department of Defense office, is comprised of dedicated and trained volunteers and staff. We will develop and promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members.

ESGR informs and educates service members and their civilian employers regarding their rights and responsibilities governed by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). ESGR does not have statutory authority to enforce, but serves as a neutral, free resource to employers and service members. ESGR’s trained ombudsmen provide mediation of issues relating to compliance with USERRA.

HOLTS SUMMIT, Mo. – The City of Holts Summit signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve July 14 at a City Council meeting with Mayor Lucas Fitzpatrick and the Board of Alderman. Dave Doering, Area 5 vice Chair of the Missouri Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) and Steven Brothers, ESGR Program Support Specialist presented the Statement of Support to the meeting.

May 14, 2014National Guard (In Federal Status) and Reserve Activated as of April 29, 2014
The Army Reserve, Navy Reserve and Marine Corps Reserve announced this week a decrease in activated reservists, while the Army National Guard, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve announced an increase of National Guard members and activated reservists. The Coast Guard Reserve announced no change in the number of activated reservists. The net collective result is 63 more activated National Guard members and reservists in comparison to last week.
