 ESGR, a Department of Defense office, is comprised of dedicated and trained volunteers and staff. We will develop and promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members.

ESGR informs and educates service members and their civilian employers regarding their rights and responsibilities governed by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). ESGR does not have statutory authority to enforce, but serves as a neutral, free resource to employers and service members. ESGR’s trained ombudsmen provide mediation of issues relating to compliance with USERRA.

December 18, 2014National Guard (In Federal Status) and Reserve Activated as of December 16, 2014

WASHINGTON – The Army Reserve, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, and Coast Guard Reserve announced a decrease in activated National Guard members and reservists this week, while the Army National Guard, Navy Reserve, and Marine Corps Reserve announced an increase of activated National Guard members and reservists. The net collective result is a decrease of 468 activated National Guard members and reservists in comparison to last week.

December 12, 2014USA Truck Supervisors Honored for Patriotic Support

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Northwest Area Chair, Jon Woodham presented three ESGR Patriot Awards to USA Truck Supervisors. They were nominated by Spc. Steven Long, U.S. Army Reserve and Arkansas National Guardsman Sgt. Brian Pharoh. The awards were presented at USA Truck’s home office in Van Buren in front of an audience that included all veterans currently employed at that location.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Arkansas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense (DoD) office, announced that Nick Chaich, President of AHI Stoneworks, signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve Nov. 26 at AHI Stoneworks. The Statement of Support confirms AHI Stoneworks joins other employers in pledging to fully recognize, honor and enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA).
