ESGR, a Department of Defense office, is comprised of dedicated and trained volunteers and staff. We will develop and promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and Service members.

ESGR informs and educates Service members and their civilian employers regarding their rights and responsibilities governed by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). ESGR does not have statutory authority to enforce, but serves as a neutral, free resource to employers and service members. ESGR’s trained ombudsmen provide mediation of issues relating to compliance with USERRA.

LYNDEN, Wash. – Oxbo International Supervisor Tim Buist and Lead Andrew Gallagher were presented with a Patriot Award June 15 by John Van Dalen, ombudsman for the Washington Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Committee, in recognition of extraordinary support of his employees or spouses of serving in the Guard and Reserve.

June 10, 2016Boss Lift showcases Guard mission to employers

FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. – Watching as the F-15 from the Oregon Air National Guard slide in position behind the KC-135 flown by the 141st Air Refueling Wing of the Washington Air National Guard, a KC-135 crew member, known as a boom operator, maneuvered the telescopic boom that would transfer fuel from the KC-135 to the F-15.

MUKILTEO, Wash. – The Washington State Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense program, announced today at a city council meeting the Mukilteo Police Department was honored with a Seven Seals Award in recognition of extraordinary support of its employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.
